High strength and stiffness with excellent dimensional stability — one of the easiest engineering plastics to machine to tight tolerances.

POM (acetal), available as POM-C copolymer and POM-H homopolymer, combines high mechanical strength, rigidity and fatigue resistance with very low moisture absorption. It holds its dimensions better than almost any other engineering plastic, making it ideal for precision machined components.

With low friction and excellent wear resistance, POM is widely used for gears, rollers, bushings and precision parts across automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

Grades & Modifications

Supplied as POM-C copolymer (better chemical resistance) and POM-H homopolymer (higher strength and stiffness). Modified grades include glass-fibre reinforced, anti-static, UV-stabilised and food-contact compliant.

Machining & Fabrication

POM is the benchmark for machinability. We CNC turn, mill and drill to tolerances as tight as ±0.02 mm, and can produce high volumes with consistent surface finish. No post-machining stress relief is usually required.
